Our VisionThe organisers of (re)innovate challenge are driven by a vision of more Australian businesses innovating. We want organisations to stop talking about innovation and instead try doing something about it. We recognise innovation can be a hard concept to grasp, so we developed (re)innovate challenge as a way to impart knowledge to businesses willing to give innovation a go.
We also believe (re)innovate challenge is an innovation in its own right. No other business planning challenge has been run with a focus on stimulating new ideas in existing businesses and teaching them how to turn those ideas into innovations. As with all innovations it hasn’t been easy. There were countless road-blocks and some self proclaimed “leaders of Australian innovation” couldn’t have been less supportive… but we persevered and in the process believe we’ve created something both unique and worthwhile.
(re)innovate challenge is the brain-child (some might say Frankenstein) of Dynamic Horizons. Dynamic Horizons is a Melbourne based innovation company that specialises in developing the innovation capability of medium and large Australian organisations.
The plan to run a national innovation challenge first began in 2007 - when we got impatient with everyone “looking into” innovation but not being prepared to do something about it. Rather than write a report we decided to practice what we preach and actually make something happen… the idea for (re)innovate challenge was born!
Dynamic Horizons has designed and implemented business planning challenges for several of our corporate clients. From this experience we believe they are one of the most effective frameworks for teaching businesses about innovation and encourage them to explore new ideas. Clients such as South East Water, CitiPower Powercor and ETSA Utilities have all enjoyed positive financial, social and environmental benefits from their business planning challenges. Perhaps more importantly, each has also seen the development of a corporate culture that embraces and engages in innovation.

Anthill Magazine was launched in September 2003 by its current editor-in-chief James Tuckerman. Anthill is targeted to highly innovative and ambitious ‘fast’ growth businesses - SMEs with rapid growth potential and larger companies that realise the value of reinvention to stay ahead.
It does not focus on the traditional ‘nuts and bolts’ of business development (although this is a key element of editorial content), but instead it highlights the inspiring thrills, spills, trials and tribulations of business development and rapid commercial growth.
Business can and should be fun, right!
