What’s involved?

Participating in (re)innovate challenge will be no walk in the park. We’re serious about driving innovation in Australian businesses. And from previous experience we know that takes a lot of hard work.

Anyone can come up with ideas. Innovators differentiate themselves by devoting time and energy to develop those ideas - and through sheer perseverance making something happen.

A key element of (re)innovate challenge is the training provided to teams. Training topics are made available each fornight throughout the challenge and are delivered as downloadable documents and video workshops. You can download a complete overview of the training program here.

At a minimum teams will be required to submit a complete business plan at the end of (re)innovate challenge. This plan must clearly explain your idea, indentify the need in the market and map out a realistic implementation strategy. It will also have to include a detailed marketing plan and financial projections. To see the recommended business plan template simply register your interest above and we’ll give you access to the (re)innovate challenge resources section.

For teams really serious about their idea, we’re going to push you to move beyond the business plan and get your idea “off the paper”. For new products we’ll look at cheap, quick and effective ways of prototyping. For service and process innovations there will be information to help you visualize and map your concept so it can be easily conveyed to others. The more tangible you can make your idea the better – and the more likely you’ll get approval by your business to implement it!

All of this is going to take time and effort and will have to be balanced with your day-to-day job requirements. We recommend every team member allocates three hours per week to (re)innovate challenge. This may sound like a lot, but it will be absolutely necessary to give your idea the best chance of success.
